The distribution partnerships will allow Cycling.tv - which streams live cycling and video on demand 365 days of the year through seven dedicated channels - to deliver free cycling and biking based content through blinkx’s Direct Play platform and via Joost, reaching a new and wider audience outside of the global cycling and biking community.
Cycling.tv video content will include top professional cycling from the British and European calendars including the ‘Spring Classics’ through to Cycling.tv produced programming.
In addition, Cycling.tv and blinkx will share advertising revenue generated through the dedicated Cycling.tv player on blinkx. Managing Director of Cycling.tv, Simon Brydon, believes this is the next natural stage for online publishers and internet TV operators such as Cycling.tv. “This is a very exciting opportunity for Cycling.tv. A distribution partnership with blinkx gives us the opportunity to deliver our unique content to a mass audience outside of the sphere of cycling and biking fans online, with an unprecedented degree of flexibility and personalisation.’’
The partnership with Joost, gives Cycling.TV the same opportunity to deliver content and offers viewers the “choice and the opportunity to watch what they like, when they like, how they like, at the broadcast quality they want,’’ said Brydon.
