CTM APPOINTED OFFICIAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS PARTNER FOR THE MACAU 2007, 2ND ASIAN INDOOR GAMES

Macau's leading telecom service provider CTM was appointed Official Telecommunications Partner for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games.

CTM will promote 3G mobile broadcasting throughout Asia, provide technical infrastructure for over 22 competition and non competition venues including the Main Press Centre, and supply manpower resources for MAIGOC; according to the Official Partnership Agreement signed yesterday with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Macau 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games Organising Committee (MAIGOC).

OCA Vice-President and Chairman of Board of Directors of MAIGOC Manuel Silvério was positive of the cooperation; "We are confident that CTM's experience and commitment will guarantee a professional and steadfast telecom infrastructure which is vital for the success of the Games. CTM will greatly assist MAIGOC in providing cutting edge telecommunications across a wide range of Games functional areas and will ultimately showcase Macau's capabilities in hosting large scale international sporting events. The Asian Indoor Games is an exciting multi-sport event created by OCA. The unique sports meet is composed of sports that are not included in the Asian Games or the Olympic Games but have strong popularity and potential.

The programme is aimed at encouraging a higher level of participation among the youth of Asia through a greater variety of sports that places emphasis on the leisure and entertainment aspects of the sport. Organised biennially, the second edition of the Asian Indoor Games will be hosted in Macao China, commencing from 26 October to 3 November 2007, consisting of 17 competing sports and 2 demonstration sports, with expected NOC participation from 45 countries throughout all regions of Asia.
