The Awards are the networking centrepiece of the inaugural ISEMS (International Sports Event Management and Security event) at Wembley Stadium on October 31st and November 1st. The Awards Dinner, which will be attended by the leaders of world sport and the people who make events happen, is on Wednesday October 31st.
Judged by a panel of peers, rights owners and expert observers, awards will be presented for nine categories:
- SECURITY
- EVENT LOOK
- CEREMONIES
- VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME
- MEDIA SERVICES
- HOSPITALITY
- HOST BROADCAST
- EVENT OVERLAY / FACILITIES
The winner of the ISEMS Award in each category will be selected according to the success of the nominated project against the original project brief, the degree of innovation and fresh thinking displayed in overcoming obstacles and the contribution made to advancing event management thinking and best practice. Any organisation (or individual on behalf of an organisation) which has played a role in the delivery of a sports event since January 1, 2006 can enter.
Each Award will be considered by a panel of four judges. They will comprise a senior representative of the Awards sponsor SportBusiness International and three experienced members of the international event management community. Judges will be selected for individual categories to ensure there can be no conflict of interest. Details of judging panels will be announced shortly.
The SportBusiness ISEMS awards will be judged in two stages. The first will provide an outline of the nominated project, its scope, execution and achievements.
A shortlist of three entries in each category will be drawn up after a first round of judging.
In Stage 2, judges will call for further information, as appropriate, and may request photographic and/ or filmed material and examples of press coverage as appropriate.
Entry forms can be downloaded from www.isems.com/awards/ .
