CITY TAKEOVER ‘COMPLETE’ SAYS EX THAI PM

The takeover of English soccer club Manchester City is completed, according to the man behind it – former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

A spokesman for the businessman said he now owned 74.03 percent of the club. Once he has control of 75 percent he can take the club off the stock market.

The takeover is being conducted via his UK Sports Investments unit.

Thaksin Shinawatra initiated the £81.6m takeover bid in June.
