Glasgow has received a glowing report from Commonwealth Games Evaluation Commission in praise of the city’s bid for the 2014 event.

According to the BBC website, the commission chairman, John Tierney, said that all aspects of the city's bid from infrastructure to political support had been "truly impressive".
The five-man evaluation team's tour of the city took in major venues such as Hampden Park, Ibrox, Celtic Park and the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The commission's report will go on the federation website on September 9, with the vote for the winning bid taking place on November 9.
