The three-year deal will take Northern Rock’s sponsorship up until 2010 and adds to the company’s sponsorship portfolio in the north-east, which includes shirt sponsorships of Newcastle United Football Club and Durham County Cricket Club.
“Northern Rock is synonymous with top class sport, and having the support of such a major organisation based in the north-east will continue to see us go from strength to strength on and off the field,” said Falcons Commercial Director Mick Hogan.
The deal follows the Falcons' signing of a three-year kid deal with Nike, the first Nike tie-up with a British rugby club.
Northern Rock has extended its shirt sponsorship deal with English Premiership rugby union club, Newcastle Falcons, making the partnership the longest unbroken main sponsorship in the league’s history.
