QATAR AIRWAYS EXTENDS SPONSORSHIP OF ENGLISH TEST MATCH GROUNDS

Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, extended its Official Airline status with the English Test Match Grounds in a deal brokered by Frontiers Group.

The record breaking four year sponsorship agreement encompasses all of the domestic and international cricket held at each of the seven Test Match Grounds each summer until the end of 2010 cricket season (Chester-le-Street, Edgbaston, Headingley, Lord’s, Old Trafford, Trent Bridge and The Brit Oval).

As one of the fastest growing airlines in the World, Qatar Airways has seen an ideal opportunity to promote their brand in a marketing deal that includes exclusive in-stadia signage, marketing rights, tickets and hospitality.

Qatar Airways’ Regional Manager South and West Europe, Siva Ramachandran commented “The Test Match Ground Partnership allows us to communicate our brand to our target audience in the UK and importantly also internationally, many of whom are very passionate about cricket. “

Nick Hoyle, Sales Director at Frontiers Group added that “We are very proud to be working with Qatar Airways at such an exciting time in their development and see them as an ideal partner for cricket over the next four years. This agreement, along with other recent contract extensions, ensures the Test Match Grounds and English cricket will have a consistent family of exclusive partners beyond the 2009 Ashes.”

Qatar Airways are rapidly expanding their route network and now fly to 75 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East, with a launch to the USA planned for June 2007.
