Esteve Calzada joined the club in January 2002 and over the last five years has masterminded a strategy that doubled the club’s income over the last three years, with its annual turnover now at around 200 million euros. In his time at Barça, Calzada has also recuperated the main strategic rights to commercial exploitation and has consolidated a new organisational structure formed by experienced personnel.
The Board of Directors has expressed its gratitude to Esteve Calzada for everything he has done for the club, and wishes him all the best with his new projects.
The management of the Marketing, Commercial and Media department now passes over to Daniel Schloesser, as the result of an internal promotion process.
Schloesser, 37, has lived in Barcelona for more than eight years, and studied Business Studies at several universities around Europe, and developed his ample experience of the world of marketing and commercial strategy working in major multinational companies dealing with mass consumer goods and technological consultancy. He has been collaborating with the club for three and a half years, as the Commercial and Sponsorship Manager. Before taking on that role, he worked as an Advisor to the department in relation to Media Affairs.
