INFRONT WINS GERMAN FIS WORLD CUP RIGHTS

Infront Sports & Media has won the worldwide media rights to all FIS World Cup events belonging to the German Skiing Association (DSV), covering the Alpine and Nordic disciplines, Freestyle and Snowboard, as well as other DSV events.

The agreement effective from the start of the 2007/08 season through the 2010/11 season, was negotiated by Infront Sports & Media and its Milan-based subsidiary Infront Italy (formerly Media Partners) and is a significant strategic addition to Infront’s strong portfolio of skiing events, the company said.
“With most key media rights to the FIS World Cup under one umbrella we are now able to create an enhanced media showcase for the best men and women skiers in the world,” said Marco Bogarelli, Member of the Board of the Infront Group. “This will also help to further raise the profile of the DSV properties including such exciting events as the alpine races in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or the four-hill tournament ski jumping in Oberstdorf. The opportunities for broadcasters are now greatly enhanced, making the events even more attractive to sponsors, organisers and the fans.”
The Infront Group is the commercial partner of more than 80 percent of all
national skiing federations (19 national federations) as well as several local organising committees.
With more than 1.3 million spectators onsite and strong television ratings in many major broadcast markets, the FIS World Cup skiing events are amongst the most popular winter sports events in the world, the company said.
