Niranjan Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India which contributes an estimated 80 percent of commercial revenues in the world game, made the outburst after the conclusion on the ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean on Saturday.
Shah, speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, said: “The ICC has so many staff members. It is unnecessarily employing so many people and that costs the other members. The ICC should move away from the bureaucracy and become more simplified. They should be concentrating more on the game.
“It is fair to say there are quite a few things we will want to sort out at the next chief executives’ meeting. Will we call for a vote of no-confidence? Why not? It is something we will discuss with our board.”
