The top French and English clubs have pulled out of the Heineken Cup over a dispute around shares in the European Rugby Cup (ERC) and the fact that the English Premiership clubs have not been given a shareholding in the competition.
But an RFU Council member has proposed a motion, to be voted on today, that would see the Premiership clubs and the RFU have an equal shareholding and voting rights in the tournament. If successful, the RFU’s management board would face pressure to agree.
