ITV.com extended its commercial relationship with digital services company Premium TV, by agreeing a deal for a UEFA Cup broadband simulcast.

The UEFA Cup project is the latest realisation of many joint simulcast ventures planned by ITV.com and Premium TV, and follows on from the success of ITV’s high-profile Champions League simulcast, which saw Premium TV provide the live streaming of football’s premier club competition. The two companies also joined up to broadcast The 153rd Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race live online on April 7 2007.

Oliver Slipper, CEO, Premium TV, said, ”we’re fast building a strong portfolio of sport simulcasts with one of the country’s biggest broadcasters, which underlines the strength of our online broadcasting technology and our commercial expertise. At the same time, our joint projects are helping ITV gain a very strong foothold as a multi-platform broadcaster.
