EVENT UNVEILS ISEMS AWARDS

The achievements, professionalism, ingenuity and diplomacy of the world leaders in a range of key sports event management disciplines will be recognised at the inaugural ISEMS Awards – set to form the centre piece of the International Sports Events Management and Security 2007 event later this year.

They will be presented at a dinner at the Landmark Hotel, London on October 31, marking the climax of the first day of International Sports Event Management and Security 2007 which will be held at the new Wembley Stadium.

Awards will be presented in categories including best host broadcaster, overlay design, volunteer programme, media management, event marketing, branding, event ‘look’, and ceremonies.

Nominations will be considered by a panel of qualified peers and experienced observers, with details of the nomination process to be announced soon.

Said Nigel Rushman, managing director of organisers Rushmans: “Live events are the key product of the sports sector and every new event raises the bar on the standard of organisation and presentation.

“Sports event management is a multi-billion dollar industry and the achievements of those whose expertise makes the major contribution to that industry deserve recognition. We are delighted to be the first to provide a showcase for their contributions.”

International Sports Event Management & Security (ISEMS) unites two established events - the International Sports Security Summit and the International Sports Event Management Conference.

Rushman added: “The launch of the ISEMS Awards will help ensure that International Sports Event Management & Security 2007 is the must-attend event of 2007 for all those involved in planning and staging sports events.”
