ARD AND ZDF WIN 2014 WORLD CUP RIGHTS

German public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF acquired the rights for the 2014 World Cup.

Under the deal with FIFA, The two broadcasters will show at least 44 matches live and have also secured highlights rights for all 64 games. The broadcasters’ supervisory boards must still finally approve the deals.

The broadcasters have the option to sublicense non-exclusive rights for some matches to pay-TV.
