Prague city chiefs have rubber stamped plans to bid for both the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.
The decision was confirmed by mayor Pavel Bem after a vote by the city’s executive committee.
Bem said: “We will not be favoured to win the Games in 2016, but despite that we will shoot for it to raise our chances for a candidacy in 2020.
“This must not be Prague's Games, but a Games for the entire country.”
Prague is likely find itself bidding against Tokyo, Qatar, Madrid, Rome, New Delhi, and either Chicago or Los Angeles, for the 2016 Games. The IOC will announce the winner in 2009.
