Carroll, whose role spanned the Hyundai A-League, Football Operations and Community Football for the national governing body, has been with the organisation since early 2004.
Carroll managed the establishment and launch of the new national football competition the Hyundai A-League which has seen significant crowd and telelvision audience growth in its first two years.
FFA Chairman Mr Frank Lowy paid tribute to Carroll’s contribution. “Matt has played an enormous part in the revival of Football in Australia over the last three years. He has overseen the creation of the Hyundai A-League from its inception in 2004-05, to the point where it is now a flourishing mainstream competition with great crowds and strong commercial foundations.
