SCP BUYS UP US SOCCER CHANNEL GOLTV

SCP Worldwide, the New York-based sports/media company, acquired an 80 per cent stake in GolTV, the dedicated US football channel.

One report suggests that the deal is worth $200 million for the 80 per cent stake. SCP and GolTV confirmed the deal but declined to discuss the details. SCP owns a Major League Soccer franchise, Real Salt Lake.

SCP also acquired a package of exclusive rights for 90 Latin American World Cup qualifying matches, from September 2007 to November 2009.
