ENGLAND NETBALL’S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER RESIGNS

England Netball, the game’s governing body in England, accepted the resignation of Chief executive, Leslie Ross. Ms Ross, who joined the organisation in May 06, will leave her position at the end of March 07 to return to the private sector.

Chairman, Cheryl Danson, said, “we want to thank Leslie for the contribution that she has made to England Netball.”

“As Chief executive, she has led the organisation’s regionalisation changes, chaired the management committee of the Netball Superleague and continued to develop and modernise our Corporate Governance. The Board is considering the interim position and will make an announcement shortly. Meanwhile, we will work with her to ensure that there is a managed handover.”

England Netball represents more than 57,000 individual members, 3,000 clubs and 2,500 schools. Netball is the most popular team sport for women in the world: it is estimated that approximately one million women and girls participate in the game in England every week.
