TOSHIBA BECOMES RUGBY WORLD CUP SPONSOR

The International Rugby Board appointed Toshiba as an Official Sponsor for Rugby World Cup 2007.

Toshiba, one of the world’s leading electronics companies, will supply the Tournament with a range of electrical products including audio visual equipment, air conditioning systems and cell phones.

“Rugby World Cup Limited is delighted to announce that Toshiba has joined the impressive list of sponsors for Rugby World Cup 2007. The appointment of a world leader in the electronics field further underlines the enormous attraction and prestige of the Tournament in the global sporting calendar,” said International Rugby Board Chairman, Dr Syd Millar.

Toshiba has a long association with major international sporting tournaments and has a strong affiliation to Rugby through its association with the domestic Game in Japan.

The Rugby World Cup 2007 commercial programme now incorporates six Worldwide Partners: Visa International, EDF, Peugeot, GMF, Société Générale and SNCF; and Official Sponsors – Heineken, Vediorbis, Capgemini, Orange and now Toshiba.
