A nine-month ban imposed on the vice president of Italian soccer club AC Milan has been slashed to just five.
Adriano Galliani was embroiled in the match-fixing scandal which rocked the sport earlier this year. He was initially given a one-year ban but that was reduced at an appeal hearing heard in July.
His ban was reduced again this week by an arbitration board set up by the Italian Olympic Committee.
Having already served most of the reduced sentence, AC Milan confirmed Galliani would be back at the club in his ‘full position’ by the end of the year.
