CRICKET WORLD CUP SALES ON GOOD WICKET

Tagged in , &

Ticket sales for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 are soaring and on course to reach pre-tournament targets, the chairman of the West Indies Cricket Board has predicted.

Ken Gordon, head of the local organising committees hosting the event, says 50 percent of that target has already been secured after the first two phases of sales.

The first ball is not bowled in anger until March when play gets underway in Jamaica.

Gordon said: “We hope to hit $40m in ticket sales. Phase two – local sales in the Caribbean – is already underway and we’ve been pleased with the response.”
