Northern Rail agreed a deal to continue its sponsorship of English rugby league’s National League Cup for the next three years.
Northern Rail took over the sponsorship of the League Cup two years ago and will now remain as backer of the tournament until 2009 in a new deal signed with the Rugby Football League.
Besides underpinning the tournament with financial support, Northern Rail has also provided solid support for Rugby League’s grass root game through Sport England’s ‘Sportsmatch’ scheme, which provides funding on a pound-for-pound basis.
