EMIRATES TO SPONSOR AUSTRALIAN CRICKET

Emirates agreed a deal to become the official airline of the Australian cricket team for the next three years.

The first major trip the Australian team will take aboard Emirates will be when they head to New Zealand in early 2007.

The sponsorship was announced in Brisbane by Boutros Boutros, Emirates' Senior Vice-President - Media Relations, Sponsorships & Events and James Sutherland, Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer.

Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Group, said in a statement: "This is a significant development which further strengthens Emirates' association with Australia and its sporting passions.
