FIA president Max Mosley, said, “the Formula One images should be freely available to the public. That is fundamental to the manufacturers and to us.”
The Concorde Agreement which protects the rights of viewers in principal countries ends at the end of 2007 and there is no guarantee that the same clause will be included in any new deal.
Mosley also said that Formula One needs a mixture of manufacturers and independents. Mosley said the regulation changes set to come into force in 2008 would be critical in making sure Formula One is just as financially-viable for smaller concerns with no major backing behind them as it is for the larger manufacturer squads.
