BANGLADESH GOVERNMENT APPROVES TV RIGHTS DEAL

The Bangladesh government approved the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s record $56 million TV rights agreement with a Singapore-based Nimbus Sports International.

The cricket board will now sign the agreement within the next 24 hours. Nimbus last week beat rival, Zee Telefilms, by over $23 million to win the rights.

The rights cover cricket matches played in Bangladesh until 2012. According to the Future Tours Programme (FTP) drawn up by the International Cricket Council, Bangladesh are due to play between 21 and 23 Test matches and 59 to 61 one-day internationals over the six-year period.
