SKY SPORTS WINS 2007 UEFA EURO U21 CHAMPIONSHIP

UK pay-broadcaster BSkyB acquired the exclusive live rights for next summer’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship which will be staged in the Netherlands in June.

The deal ensures that Sky Sports viewers can see live football every month in 2007. Each of the tournament’s 15 games will be shown live, from the opening match in Heerenveen on Sunday 10 June to the Final in Groningen on Saturday 23 June. The draw for the Finals will be made on Friday 24 November and shown live on Sky Sports News.

The eight finalists are England Belgium, the Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Israel and hosts the Netherlands. In the opening stage the nations compete in two groups before the winners and runners-up in each progress to knockout Semi-Finals.
