Two matches would be played in Toronto, Canada, while the remaining three are scheduled for Brooklyn, New York.
It is said that the organisers behind the five-match series have had meetings with the ICC and the matches have been sanctioned with international status.
Although no dates have been confirmed, it is thought the matches have been scheduled towards the end of the month of June, where there is a gap in the ODI calendar, ahead of India’s tour to England in July.
There are estimated to be around 400,000 Indian expatriates in New York and huge interest in the series is anticipated. Should it do well the creation of an annual event may be considered.
