Finance head Nick Humby and commercial chief Andy Anson both announced they were stepping down and would leave the club in February.
The duo were among just three executives who remained at the club prior to its takeover by US tycoon Malcolm Glazer.
The other is CEO David Gills, who went on the club’s own TV channel, MUTV, to allay concerns.
Gills said: “This will not affect the business in any way, Manchester United is not just about two people.
“We would have preferred this had not happened but we will move on, we still have a great future ahead of us.”
