A lawyer for the Florence club said that a reduction of the point penalty would not appease the club, "because we did nothing (wrong), therefore I do not see why we should be punished."
The sports tribunal sentenced Fiorentina to a 19- point penalty this summer for its part in the corruption scandal also involving Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Reggina. Fiorentina owner Diego Della Valle was suspended for three years and nine months, his brother and club president Andrea for three years.
Juventus, relegated to Serie B with a 17-point penalty, Milan and Lazio, penalised respectively with eight and 11 points, have all asked for a penalty reduction from the arbitration chamber and agreed to remain within the sports justice regardless of the chamber ruling.
