The deal, with TopUp-TV means that the broadcaster’s offering of 46 live Premiership matches plus its portfolio of other sports rights will be available in all homes with the correct Freeview box as well as those served by satellite broadcaster BSkyB and cable operator NTL-Telewest. Around seven million homes have a Freeview box.
The Setanta Sports channel will be offered on a standalone basis or part of Top Up TV's own pay-TV package.
