The Ford Motor Company pulled its sponsorship from Canada's three Champ Car World Series events.
Ford, which has suffered a number of financial setbacks in the past two years, is still expected to have some sort of association with the events in Toronto, Edmonton and Mount Tremblant next season but will no longer be a primary sponsor.
Ford is also presenting sponsorship of the entire Champ Car series, which it has backed since the new owners took over the bankrupt CART product in 2004.
