Attendees of the one day academic conference, which will be held one day prior to Campus ‘07, will have access to the two-day parallel sessions on April 18th and 19th.
Academics are therefore invited to initially submit Executive Summaries (and eventually full papers) that address issues pertaining to the management of commercial sport. Submissions falling within one or more of the following themes will be especially welcomed:
Commercial development of sport and sporting properties
Strategic, tactical and change management
Sport marketing, sponsorship and naming rights
Broadcasting, media and technology
Managing venues and events
Operations, risk and security management
Human resource management
Finance and accounting
Globalisation and international management
The International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship will publish a Sport Campus special edition comprising of the best conference papers that fit within the Journal’s mission. In some cases, papers that are not selected for presentation at the conference may still appear in the special edition of the journal. The deadline for the submission of Executive Summaries is December 15, 2006.
The deadline for the submission of final papers is April 4, 2007.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All submissions will be double-blind peer reviewed by leading international sport management academics. Authors are expected to identify the implications for practice of their research within their abstract. Executive Summaries will be no more than 400 words and should provide a flavour of the article and include the rationale for the study, methods used, key findings, conclusions and value added. The Harvard system of referencing should be used, further details of which can be found at: http://library.curtin.edu.au/referencing/harvard.pdf
All submissions should adopt the following format:
Page 1 -title of the Executive Summary; author(s) name(s), affiliation, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number; up to six keywords.
Page 2 - title of the Executive Summary; Executive Summary.
NB Author(s) name(s), affiliation, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number MUST NOT appear on this page.
Submissions should be sent by e-mail to one of the conference Chairs (details of whom can be found below) as Word documents (ideally version 2000 or later). For administrative purposes, authors should submit their manuscript together with a covering letter. Receipt of submissions is no guarantee of acceptance for presentation.
The Chairs decisions regarding acceptance/rejection will be final. Authors whose Executive Summaries are accepted for “full paper” status will be notified by February 15, 2007

ADDITIONAL NOTE
Footnotes and endnotes may be used in both the Executive Summary and the final paper, but only where appropriate and as sparingly as possible. Tables, charts, diagrams and figures should be in black and white and placed on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Authors must indicate in the main body of the text approximately where each table, chart, diagram or figure should appear. The accuracy of references used is the responsibility of the author(s). Final papers are expected to be no less than 4,000 words and no more than 8,000 words in length.
