BBC CONTINUES WITH ARC COVERAGE

UK public-service broadcaster the BBC signed a new three-year deal to provide live coverage of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe from Longchamp, Paris.

Already holder of rights to the UK feature meetings the Grand National, Derby and Royal Ascot until 2009, the BBC will now broadcast Europe's premier Flat race for the same period having signed a contract that also gives it access to all France's principal races.

Dominic Coles, the BBC's director of sports rights and finance, said: "The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is one of the world's most prestigious horseraces, and we are delighted it remains part of the BBC's racing crown jewels for the rest of the decade, alongside the Grand National, the Derby and Royal Ascot.

"This acquisition reinforces our commitment to bringing the very best horseracing to the widest possible audiences."
