As part of the eight-year agreement, Univision will broadcast 25 MLS matches per season, 10 US men's national team matches and five international matches organised by SUM. Matches will be broadcast on all three of Univision's networks, Univision, Telefutura and Galavision.
The deals mean that MLS matches return to Univision for the first time since 1999. The MLS agreement follows Univision's recent acquisition of the exclusive Spanish-language television rights to broadcast the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups in the United States and Puerto Rico. That agreement includes broadcast rights for the FIFA Women's World Cups 2007 and 2011 and FIFA Confederations Cups 2009 and 2013, as well as 22 additional tournaments.
Univision joins ABC/ESPN, HDNet, Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en Espanol as broadcast partners of MLS.
