Japan's Suzuka motor racing circuit will push for a place on the Formula One calendar for 2008, after a request to host a Grand Prix next year was rejected.
Suzuka, Honda's home circuit will host a race this year, but from next year the Toyota-owned Fuji Speedway will take over the Japanese Grand Prix hosting.
The Suzuka ciruit said it is in continuing negotiations in order to be included from 2008 and is hoping another round could be included for it to host.
