It is reported that nine groups are interested in acquiring the Sportfive agency, five companies thought to include media groups WPP and Lagadère and four private equity companies including Apax Partners and Permira.
The asking price for the agency remains between €800 million and €1 billion. The nine bidders are all thought to have submitted letters to Sportfive, declaring their interest in bidding for the company.
Rival sports agencies IMG and Dentsu are also thought to have registered interest in bidding for Sportfive, which holds, among many other properties, the European TV rights for Euro 2008.
