Irish broadcaster Setanta Sports is said to be close to agreeing a fund-raising deal with a private-equity firm.
Setanta Sports had been seeking funding to back its expansion plans and is thought to have been in talks with several private equity investors in order to raise around €300 million.
Earlier this year, Setanta agreed to pay £392 million (€576 million) for the rights to show 46 English Premier League matches a year and acquired the rights for US PGA golf.
