GLOBAL YACHT RACE MAY BE IN DOUBT

The race, first held in 1992, was due to take place in 2008. Challenge Business, the race organisers said they are considering the options for the race and will continue to search for a title sponsor.

The renowned race features amateurs sailing alongside professional yachtsmen in identical 72ft (22m) ocean yachts. It is the only race that sails around the world the wrong way, against the prevailing winds and currents.
