EUROSPORT EXTENDS US OPEN TV DEAL UNTIL 2012

Pan-European broadcaster Eurosport extended its TV deal with the US Tennis Association for the US Open for an additional six years until the 2012 US Open.

The agreement is an extension of the current deal and includes both broadcast and sublicensing rights within Eurosport’s territory of coverage, as well as online rights for Eurosport’s region. The US Open will be aired on pan-European networks Eurosport and Eurosport 2 to more than 108 million homes and 240 million viewers across 55 countries in Europe and North Africa.

Eurosport has been broadcasting the US Open since 2001. In 2006, Eurosport is providing wall-to-wall coverage of the US Open with more than 240 hours of coverage provided in 20 different languages on Eurosport and Eurosport 2. Eurosport will air more than 1,450 hours of tennis from tournaments throughout the world in 2006.
