WORLD SWIMMING CHAMPS ALTERS PROGRAMME TO AVOID F1 CLASH

The diving competition at the 2007 world swimming championships in Melbourne has been moved back a day to avoid a clash with the Australian Formula One Grand Prix.

The diving competition had been due to start on March 18 with the Australian Grand Prix scheduled for the same date.

The 2007 World Swimming Championships said it would review the schedule after the FIA last month said that the first race in 2007 would return to Melbourne. The 2006 Australian Grand Prix was put back to third on the calendar to accommodate the Commonwealth Games, also in Melbourne.

The revised diving schedule will mean the diving events run from March 19-26.
