MILAN GOES TO COURT OF ARBITRATION

Italian soccer club AC Milan is to take its fight to have its punishment for involvement in a match-fixing scandal cut to the Italian Olympic Committee’s (CONI) Court of Arbitration.

The club were docked eight points for their part in the controversy which also saw Juventus demoted.

Hopes of resolving the dispute with Italian soccer federation the FIGC broke down yesterday after a CONI negotiator was unable to broker an agreement.

Milan are likely to be joined by Fiorentina and Lazio in putting their cases before the Court of Arbitration.

The new league season is due to get underway on September 10.
