SEARCH ON FOR NEW UK ATHLETICS CEO

Fast Track MD Jon Ridgeon is likely to be among the candidates to become the new chief executive of UK Athletics following the resignation of Dave Moorcroft.

But Steve Cram has told the BBC that he's not interested in running what has become one of the most financially successful athletics bodies in the world.

Jon Ridgeon signalled his interest and told the BBC: "It's a big job and a wonderful opportunity."

Moorcroft resigned on Thursday after nine years in the job but will stay on while UKA find and appoint his successor.

Under other circumstances, Lord Sebastian Coe would be clear favourite for the role but has massive commitments aorund London 2012.

Ridgeon, 39, has a combination of athletics experience both on the track and in organising major athletics events for Fast Track. The chief executive has to meet the requirements of a board, a new UK Members Council, which will be selected in the autumn, and a host of athletics clubs across the regions.
