ECB CASH CRISIS FEARS AVERTED

Fears the England & Wales Cricket Board could be left more than £10m out of pocket by the cancellation of the upcoming one-day series against Pakistan have been averted.

It had been feared Pakistan were going to pull out of the series following the huge controversy sparked by the ball tampering allegations at the end of the final Test last weekend.

But after a disciplinary hearing for Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq was postponed until after the series, the tourists agreed to play.

The one-day and Twenty20 games get underway next week.
