DaimlerChrysler has the option to raise its 40 per cent stake in the McLaren Group, but a company spokesperson denied that a final decision has been taken.

McLaren team principal Ron Dennis and Saudi investor Mansour Ojjeh each own 30 percent of McLaren. It was reported in the German press Mercedes was close to acquiring the remaining 60 percent it does not already own in McLaren Group.
