MASN CHANNEL TO GO 24-HOUR

The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network said it would expand to a 24-hour programming line-up that will eventually feature NCAA basketball, football and lacrosse games.

MASN, which is controlled by the MLB’s Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos, has the rights to broadcast Washington Nationals games. It had been racing to meet a July 31 deadline set by its contract with pay-operator DirecTV mandating that the channel carry 24-hour programming.

MASN is also the official cable sports network of the Baltimore Ravens and will carry the team's four preseason games beginning this month.
