TNT AND PGA.COM TO OFFER BROADBAND COVERAGE

US broadcaster Turner Network Television and PGA.com will partner on 11 hours of live Internet coverage of the 2006 PGA Championship August 17-21.

They will provide a four-stream broadband platform for the tournament and several advertisers are sponsoring the Internet coverage. The first stream will be live coverage of the tournament itself, some of it exclusive to the Internet and some of it simulcast from the TNT cable television telecast. The second stream will be exclusive on PGA.com and will offer viewers the ability to follow two threesomes of players per day from hole to hole.

A third stream, called Inside the Ropes, will be give viewers course flyovers, player profiles, historical PGA tournament highlights, and live access to the media’s player interview area as they finish their rounds. The fourth video stream will feature the PGA Learning Center and will be hosted by PGA director of instruction Rick Martino, who will offer golf tips. This stream will also have tie-ins to the live tournament in which player shots and strategies will be discussed.
