2011 RUGBY WORLD CUP STADIUM REVAMP

New Zealand’s Jade Stadium in Christchurch is to get a revamp for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

The NZ$60-million revamp will take four years to complete and will expand its capacity by 7,000 to 43,000 seats for the Rugby World Cup, which New Zealand will host in 2011.

The majority of the funding is expected to come from the private sector and stadium partners, with the rest coming from local and central government and charitable and sporting trusts.
