ITALIAN DECREE ON FOOTBALL RIGHTS

Tagged in &

Italian communications minister Paolo Gentiloni confirmed the Italian government will present a decree on football TV rights in the coming days.

The legislation, which may seek to re-introduce the collective sale of TV rights to football, will be presented after the annual report of the communications authority.

The move is part of a wider package of reforms being proposed by Romano Prodi’s government to alter media legislation passed by Italy’s former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
