Siemens will sponsor both this year’s World Rowing Championships in Eton and the Great Britain rowing team in a deal that runs until the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Under the sponsorship of the Great Britain rowing team, a deal worth £3.2 million, Siemens becomes a ‘high-performance partner’ of the team. The deal involves an element of prize money awarded directly to rowers who win medals at the Olympics and World Championships.
The sponsorship money will also be used to develop sports science support and the UK’s ‘world-class start’ programme.
