Rugby union’s Celtic League is understood to have agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with Magners, the Ireland-based cider brewer.
The deal is the first title-sponsorship for the competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Scotland and Wales since its inception in 2001.
Magners is already involved in rugby union, sponsoring the Celtic League’s Edinburgh Gunners club and English Guinness Premiership club Wasps.
